105 years of Hospital Service to the community. Continuing to meet the needs of the modern medical world. 105 years of quality health care service to the community. Established 1921. GOD HEALS, WE SERVE.
100 years ago, on August 1, 1921 to be exact, a humble six-bed sawali made medical infirmary was established by the United Brethren Church of the United States. This idea was first conceptualized in the mind of Rev. Howard W. Widdoes, a non-medical missionary way back in the year 1904 because he saw the need of such facility for patients suffering from dysentery and cholera which were common during that time.
This medical infirmary was first organized in 1921 by the United Brethren Church of the United States (now the United Methodist Church) is the first hospital in La Union province and the first institution in the Ilocos Region, dedicated to community service and exists only to care for the ill and to work constantly for improved health among our citizens.
